Pragmatic Play launches new slot Rat Royale
Pragmatic Play has launched a new slot called Rat Royale. The game went live on 22 October 2026 and sports a darker look than the studio is usually known for, making it a fitting autumn and Halloween release.
What’s new
Pragmatic Play has released a new slot game called Rat Royale. Instead of the bright colours the provider is known for, this new game sports a dark and gloomy aesthetic, making it a perfect fit for spooky season. The theme centres on an underground rat colony ruled by a Rat King sitting on piles of treasure.
Rat Royale features a 5×5 grid, 259 paylines, medium volatility and 96.52% RTP. RTP, or return to player, shows the theoretical share of all stakes a game pays back to players over time. Special Rat King Wilds offer multipliers up to 500x and unique gem-based powers. Standard Wilds carry random multipliers up to 100x, while the four different Rat King Wilds can reach multipliers up to 500x.
Three to five Scatters trigger bonus rounds with 10 free spins and additional features. There are three different free spins modes, each with enhanced Rat King Wilds. Besides free spins, the game also offers special bets and bonus buy, letting players pay to enter the bonus round directly. The maximum win in Rat Royale is 15,000 times the stake.
What it means for you as a player
Rat Royale adds to Pragmatic Play’s broad game library, already available at several Swedish-licensed casinos. Since the supplier rolls out new titles to licensed operators on an ongoing basis, releases like this usually appear in the slots library at Swedish sites shortly after the global launch.
For players, this mostly means more variety. A medium-volatility game with several bonus modes feels different from the brighter, more classic titles Pragmatic Play is known for. The 96.52% RTP figure is a theoretical average over a huge number of spins, not a guarantee for any single session. Always set your own limits for time and money. If you need support, help is available via Stödlinjen.se, and Spelpaus.se lets you exclude yourself from all licensed gambling at any time.
The bigger picture
The launch arrives as several major suppliers fill their release calendars with darker themes for autumn and Halloween. Pragmatic Play choosing a gloomy style instead of its usual bright colours shows the studio is willing to try new visual directions, while the core mechanics of multiplier wilds and multiple bonus modes remain recognisable from earlier hits. For Swedish players, it means a steady stream of new titles to choose from at licensed casinos, regardless of season or theme.
