Live casino 2026

By Mikael Sandberg · Fact-checked by Emma Bergqvist against Spelinspektionen's licence register · Updated 19 October 2026

Live casino 2026

Live casino means playing roulette, blackjack and game shows against real croupiers streamed directly from a studio. Among the Swedish operators we cover, Evolution is the provider named most often, and Pragmatic Play Live is another studio with a broad live range. Here we go through which live casino games are available, what they pay, what the odds look like and which casinos with a Swedish licence offer live casino according to their own information.

The figures on this page come from the providers’ game sheets and established mathematical sources, not from our own playing sessions. Offers and game selections were checked in October 2026.

Live dealer: how play works in the studio

A live casino table sits in a studio with cameras pointed at the wheel, the card table or the stage. A live dealer runs the game, spins the wheel or deals the cards, and the picture is streamed to your phone or computer. You place your bets in a digital interface laid over the video, and when betting time is up the table closes for that round.

The result is recorded by the system, and any winnings are paid into your gaming account once the round is settled.

The difference from ordinary table games is mainly the pace and the feel. An RNG game plays as fast as you click, while a live table has fixed rounds where all players bet at the same time. That means you play fewer rounds per hour, which also means you stake less money in the same amount of time.

Live casino games: table games and game shows

The range at Swedish casinos broadly consists of three groups: roulette, blackjack and game shows. On top of that come a few smaller categories such as the dice game Sic Bo and the card game Dragon Tiger.

Roulette with a croupier

Live roulette is the same game as at an ordinary table, with the same payouts. Several studios do, however, have their own variants with multipliers. One example is Evolution’s Lightning Roulette, which according to available information launched in 2018. In each round lightning strikes between one and five lucky numbers, which get multipliers of 50x–500x. To fund the multipliers, an ordinary straight-up bet pays 29:1 instead of the 35:1 that applies in classic roulette.

Pragmatic Play Live takes a similar approach with titles such as Mega Roulette, Mega Roulette 3000, PowerUP Roulette and Gates of Olympus Roulette. We cover the basics – bet types, payouts and the difference between the European and American variants – in our guide to online roulette.

Blackjack with a dealer

Live blackjack is played with real cards against a dealer. The basic rules are the same as in ordinary blackjack: a natural blackjack pays 3:2 and insurance 2:1. Evolution’s titles include Infinite Blackjack, where the house edge according to Wizard of Odds is 0.45%. That is low compared with most other live casino games, but it assumes you play according to basic strategy.

Pragmatic Play Live offers titles such as ONE Blackjack, Free Bet Blackjack and Blackjack X. Payouts, rule variants and basic strategy are explained in our guide to online blackjack.

Game shows

Game shows are a genre of their own within live casino: a big wheel of fortune, a presenter and bonus games where you can land multipliers. Crazy Time from Evolution is a typical example. The wheel leads on to four bonus games – Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko and Crazy Time – and according to compiled game data the return varies between 94.33% (betting on Pachinko) and 96.08% (betting on the number 1).

Other well-known Evolution titles are Dream Catcher, Monopoly Live, Deal or No Deal and Funky Time. Pragmatic Play Live has Mega Wheel, Money Time, Snakes & Ladders Live and Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, which is based on the same sweets theme as the provider’s slot Sweet Bonanza – there is more on that type of game in our guide to online slots.

Game shows are entertaining, but expect them to cost more than classic table games. Crazy Time, for example, has a lower return than both blackjack and European roulette, and the difference between bets within the same game is large.

Rules and payouts in the most common live games

The table brings together payouts and returns for the games and bets where the figures are verified. RTP (return to player) and the house edge are two ways of expressing the same thing: an RTP of 97.3% corresponds to a house edge of 2.7%.

Note that the 97.3% RTP in Lightning Roulette applies to the bets with the best return. Straight-up bets have a lower RTP, and the exact figure should be shown in the game’s information panel. Always read it before playing a new table – that is where the rules, payouts and return for that particular version are stated.

Strategy and probability in live casino

The most important insight is simple: no betting system changes the house edge. Martingale, where you double your stake after every loss, d’Alembert, Fibonacci and similar systems only move the risks around. Every single round has the same expected value regardless of what happened in the previous round.

A worked example shows why. If you play European roulette at 100 kr per round for 100 rounds, you have staked 10,000 kr. With a house edge of 2.7%, the expected loss is 270 kr. A single session can go better or worse, but over time the result moves towards that figure.

Martingale looks tempting because you usually win back your losses. The problem is the long losing streaks. The chance of losing a bet on red in European roulette is 19/37, and the probability of losing seven times in a row is under 1%. Over 100 rounds, however, there is roughly a 36% risk that such a streak turns up at some point. If you start at 10 kr, you have then lost 1,270 kr and must bet 1,280 kr in the next round to win back 10 kr – if the table maximum even allows it.

What you can actually influence is your choice of game and bet. In blackjack basic strategy makes a big difference, in roulette the European variant is better than the American, and in game shows the return varies between bets. Multipliers do not make a game more profitable; they only redistribute the winnings so that you get rare big hits in exchange for lower base payouts.

On-screen statistics – what they do and do not tell you

Most live tables display statistics on recent rounds: which numbers have come up, the share of red and black or which segments of the wheel have been hit. That kind of data is interesting to look at but says nothing about the next round.

A roulette wheel has no memory. If red has come up five times in a row, the chance of black on the next spin is still 18/37. Terms like “hot” and “cold” numbers only describe what has already happened. Over a very large number of rounds the distribution evens out, but not because the wheel “compensates” for earlier outcomes. The same principle applies to all chance-based online casino games, from slots to dice games.

Getting started with live casino

You can start playing quickly, but a few minutes of preparation make a big difference. This is how it usually works at a Swedish casino:

  1. Choose a casino with a Swedish licence. Feel free to check the licence in the register kept by Spelinspektionen (the Swedish Gambling Authority).
  2. Register and identify yourself, in practice usually with BankID.
  3. Set your deposit limit per day, week and month. This is mandatory at all licensed operators.
  4. Make a deposit with a method you trust, for example Trustly or Swish where offered. Credit cards are not allowed.
  5. Open the live lobby and choose a table whose minimum and maximum stakes suit your budget.
  6. Read the game’s information panel before the first round, so you know which rules and payouts apply.

Live casino streams video, so a stable connection matters. What happens if you lose the connection mid-round is set out in the game rules, so it is worth checking before you bet.

The providers: Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live

Evolution was founded in 2006 and has its head office in Stockholm. Today the company also owns the brands NetEnt, Red Tiger, Ezugi, Big Time Gaming, Nolimit City and DigiWheel. The purchase of the Swedish company NetEnt was completed on 1 December 2020. Evolution’s official website has descriptions of the games and studios.

Pragmatic Play has its head office in Gibraltar and makes both slots and live casino. The live range includes roulette, blackjack, game shows such as Mega Wheel and Money Time, as well as games like Mega Sic Bo and Dragon Tiger. The provider does not publish RTP for its live games on its overview page, so always check the information panel in the game.

Unibet

Unibet names Evolution as its live provider and states more than 3,000 casino games. Since October 2025 the licence has been held by Kaprifol Services Limited, and it is valid until 22 October 2030. The casino app is available for both iOS and Android.

ComeOn names Evolution as its live provider and describes its range as thousands of casino games. According to the casino, withdrawals are processed within 24 hours, and some methods take just a few minutes.

Bonus terms and live games

Swedish casinos may only give a bonus the first time you play with the licence holder. Read the terms before accepting, since live games often contribute less to the wagering requirement (omsättningskrav) than slots. At LeoVegas, for example, live games contribute 0% to the casino bonus according to the terms.

LeoVegas instead has a separate welcome offer for live casino: 100% up to 4,000 kr with a 35x wagering requirement within 60 days, plus chips for XXXtreme Lightning Roulette. Mr Green gives a 100% bonus match up to 1,500 kr that is valid for both casino and live casino. The offers were checked on 15 October 2026. Terms and conditions apply.

Responsible gambling at the live tables

Live games can feel social and relaxed, and it is easy to stay longer than planned. Decide in advance how long you will play and how much you are prepared to lose. All Swedish casinos require you to set a deposit limit per day, week and month, and an increase applies after 72 hours at the earliest.

If you need a break, you can exclude yourself immediately for 24 hours at the casino, or from all licensed operators via Spelpaus.se, the national self-exclusion register. Stödlinjen, the national gambling helpline, answers on 020-81 91 00 and also offers chat at stodlinjen.se.
