LeoVegas review

By Mikael Sandberg · Fact-checked by Emma Bergqvist against Spelinspektionen's licence register · Updated 19 October 2026

LeoVegas review

LeoVegas is a safe choice among Swedish gambling operators: its licence runs until 2028, the game library covers more than 3,000 titles and the welcome bonus works in an unusually player-friendly way. The weaknesses are that the casino gives no concrete withdrawal time and that the list of payment methods we have been able to confirm is short. Our LeoVegas review therefore lands on a high score, but not a top score.

Behind the brand is LeoVegas Group, owned by MGM Resorts International since 2022. The Swedish licence, however, is not held by a company with LeoVegas in its name but by Roar Vegas Ltd in Malta. That is worth knowing if you read the terms or look the casino up with Spelinspektionen (the Swedish Gambling Authority).

In the review below we look at the licence, bonus terms, game selection, payments, mobile, customer service and responsible gambling tools. Our sources are the casino’s own terms and public decisions. We have not opened an account and played with our own money, and where information is missing we say so rather than guess.

The licence decision is dated 20 November 2023, according to the footer of the casino’s website. LeoVegas’ Swedish business used to sit with a different company, so older texts online may name the wrong licence holder.

Is LeoVegas legitimate?

Yes, with the caveats that apply to every gambling operator. LeoVegas holds a Swedish licence for both casino and betting, which means the company is bound by the requirements of Spellagen (the Gambling Act) on deposit limits, identification and self-exclusion. In March 2025 Roar Vegas Ltd received a remark and a financial penalty from Spelinspektionen for shortcomings in its duty of care. The administrative court later overturned the penalty, but the decision shows that the authority keeps the company under ongoing scrutiny.

If you want to check the licence yourself, every active operator is listed in Spelinspektionen’s licence register. Search for Roar Vegas Ltd – that is the licence holder listed, with LeoVegas as the website. If you cannot find the company there, do not play.

Welcome bonus and terms

As a new player you get 100% up to 4,000 kr on your first deposit, plus 100 free spins on Pirots 5 from ELK Studios. Each spin is worth 2 kr, so 200 kr in total. The minimum deposit to qualify for the offer is 100 kr.

What sets LeoVegas apart from most competitors is how the wagering requirement (omsättningskrav) is built. The requirement is 10 times and applies to the deposit, not the bonus. Once you have wagered your deposit ten times in the casino, the bonus is paid out as real money that you can withdraw. In other words, you are not playing with locked bonus funds in the meantime.

How to activate the offer

  1. Register with BankID and set your deposit limits.
  2. Activate the casino offer within 60 days – you can only choose one of the welcome offers.
  3. Make your first deposit of at least 100 kr.
  4. Wager the deposit 10 times in the casino within 60 days.
  5. Claim the bonus, which is then paid as real money, and use your free spins.

Worked example

Say you deposit 1,000 kr. The bonus is then 1,000 kr, and the wagering requirement is 1,000 × 10 = 10,000 kr in the casino. Once you reach that, the 1,000 kronor is paid out as withdrawable money. If you deposit the maximum of 4,000 kr, the requirement becomes 40,000 kr. We explain how wagering works more generally in our guide to wagering requirements.

Compare that with a typical bonus where the requirement is on the bonus amount: there you play with money that stays locked until the requirement is met, and if you lose it the bonus is gone. At LeoVegas it is your own deposit that does the work, while the bonus waits untouched until you are done. The 100 free spins on Pirots 5 are worth 100 × 2 kr = 200 kr, and the rules for winnings from them are set out in the promotion terms.

Time limits and game contributions

The terms contain four time windows of 60 days each: to activate the offer, to complete the wagering, to claim the bonus and finally to use your free spins. That is generous, but keep track of the dates so nothing expires.

Not all games count equally towards the requirement. This is how the contributions look according to the terms:

Game typeContribution to wagering
Slots100% (many titles excluded at 0%, Blood Suckers and Dead or Alive 70%)
Mini games100% (European Roulette 0%, Mini Blackjack 10%)
Table games10% (Evolution and Real Dealer tables 0%)
Video poker10%
Bingo, crash/mines and live games0%

We have not found any information on a maximum stake during the wagering period. Read the current terms before you start playing. Offer checked 15 October 2026. 18+. Terms and conditions apply.

Other welcome offers

If you prefer live tables, there is a separate live casino offer of 100% up to 4,000 kr, with a 35x wagering requirement within 60 days and extra chips worth 100 kr each for XXXtreme Lightning Roulette. Winnings from the chips are capped at 10 times. There are also welcome offers for sports and a combined sports and casino package.

Under Swedish law an operator may only give a bonus on the first occasion you play, and LeoVegas states that the offer is given once per licence. The group’s other Swedish brands, Expekt and BetMGM, have their own licences, so a bonus at LeoVegas does not affect your right to a welcome bonus there.

Games at LeoVegas

The casino says it offers more than 3,000 games, and the breadth shows above all in the slots. Providers include Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Hacksaw Gaming, Red Tiger, Games Global, Nolimit City, ELK, Big Time Gaming, Relax, Push Gaming, Yggdrasil, Quickspin and Thunderkick. LeoVegas also has its own studio, LeoVegas Studios.

The big classics are all there: Book of Dead, Sweet Bonanza and Starburst are all in the lobby. That mix means you will find both low-volatility games with many small wins and heavier slots where wins come less often but can be larger.

How do you choose among so many titles? Start by deciding how much variance you want. A low-volatility slot gives a steadier balance, while a high-volatility slot can go a long time without a win. If you are working through the welcome bonus, it is also wise to stick to games that contribute 100% – otherwise it takes much longer to finish.

A tip whatever the casino: open the game’s info screen before you play. Operators can run different RTP versions of the same slot, and only inside the game can you see which return-to-player percentage applies at that particular site.

Live casino

The live casino is run mainly by Evolution, headquartered in Stockholm. On top of that there is an exclusive blackjack table from OnAir Entertainment, LeoVegas Exclusive Blackjack. Live games are streamed from studios with real dealers, and you place your bets in an interface laid over the video stream.

Bear in mind that live games do not contribute at all to wagering the casino bonus. If live tables are mainly what you want to play, the live casino offer is the logical choice, but since you can only take one offer you need to decide before your first deposit. Also check in the terms whether the 35x requirement is calculated on the bonus or on deposit plus bonus – it makes a big difference to how much you need to stake.

Deposits and withdrawals at LeoVegas

LeoVegas highlights Swish and Trustly for both deposits and withdrawals. Cards are only mentioned as examples in the bonus terms, and we have not been able to obtain a full list of payment methods. With Trustly the money goes straight from your bank account and you approve the payment in your bank’s app. Read more about how it works with Swish at online casinos if that is your preferred method.

A Trustly deposit broadly works like this:

  1. Choose Trustly at the cashier and enter the amount.
  2. Pick your bank from the list.
  3. Approve the payment with BankID in your bank’s app.
  4. The money appears in your gaming account once the payment is complete.

Since 1 May 2026 an extended ban on gambling on credit has applied. Operators must block credit cards, so if you pay by card it must be a debit card drawing on your own account.

As for LeoVegas withdrawals, the casino describes them as fast, but it gives no time frame and no minimum withdrawal that we have been able to find. We will add our own withdrawal and customer service tests to the review. Until then, expect your first withdrawal to take longer if the casino needs to verify your details.

Before you can play you also have to set a deposit limit per day, week and month. This is a requirement of the Gambling Act and applies to every Swedish licence holder.

LeoVegas on mobile

LeoVegas itself recommends downloading the casino’s app, which according to the casino is available for both iOS and Android. The app gives you the same account, the same balance and the same limits as on desktop.

Registration is done with BankID, which suits mobile well since you already have the BankID app on your phone. Feel free to compare with other operators in our list of casinos for mobile play.

Customer service

Customer service can be reached by live chat, email and phone, and according to the casino it is open around the clock, seven days a week. Support is offered in Swedish.

If you need to send documents, for example during a source-of-funds check, email to kundservice@leovegas.com is usually the easiest route. Keep a copy of what you send.

If your query concerns a withdrawal or verification, have your ID documents and bank account details to hand when you contact them.

Responsible gambling tools

LeoVegas offers limits on deposits, losses and playing time. Through LeoSafePlay you can take a self-test of your gambling habits, and you can exclude yourself from LeoVegas on your own. The casino also links to Spelpaus.se and Stödlinjen.

A few rules are worth knowing. If you lower a limit it takes effect immediately, but an increase applies after 72 hours at the earliest. Swedish online casinos must also offer an immediate 24-hour break. If you want to exclude yourself from all Swedish operators at once, you do so at Spelpaus.se (the national self-exclusion register) with BankID.

Spelpaus can be chosen for 10 days, one month, three months, six months or indefinitely. The last option lasts for at least 12 months. A Spelpaus exclusion cannot be undone or ended early, so pick a period you really mean.

If you feel gambling is taking over, you can call Stödlinjen, the national gambling helpline, on 020-81 91 00 or chat via stodlinjen.se. Stödlinjen is open on weekdays and answers in Swedish, English and Arabic, with interpreters for other languages when needed.

Overall8.4/10

The licence and the responsible gambling tools lift the overall picture, and the bonus structure is unusual and player-friendly: the requirement sits on your own deposit, and the deadlines are long. Payments score lower because withdrawal times and the full range of methods are not stated. This is how we calculate the score: how we rate casinos.

If you are looking for a large, established casino with clear terms, LeoVegas is a good choice. Set a deposit limit you are comfortable with right from the start.
