Swedish Casinos 2026

Swedish casinos are gambling operators licensed by Spelinspektionen (the Swedish Gambling Authority) to offer online gambling to players in Sweden. On this page you can see which casinos we cover, which company runs each site, how long each licence is valid, and how bonus terms and payments differ – all based on sources published by the regulator and by the casinos themselves.
What makes a casino Swedish in the legal sense is the licence, not the address. Several of the companies behind the brands we cover are registered in Malta, but as long as they hold a Swedish licence the same rules apply to them as to a company based in Stockholm: deposit limits, Spelpaus (the national self-exclusion register), a ban on gambling on credit, and tax-free winnings.
How we compare Swedish casinos
We look at four things: licensing and supervision, bonus terms, payments, and responsible gambling tools. Our sources are the casinos’ own terms, decisions by Spelinspektionen and other published information. We have not carried out our own withdrawal or customer service tests, so we report times and contact options exactly as the casino states them.
We do not publish details that are poorly supported. Where a table says “See the casino’s terms”, it means we have not been able to confirm the detail, not that the casino lacks it. We have taken licence details primarily from Spelinspektionen’s decisions and from the footers of the casino websites.
Licence details for Swedish casinos
The table shows the licence holder – the company that has actually been granted the licence – and how long the licence is valid. The licence number is usually shown in the footer of the casino’s website.
| Casino | Licence holder | Licence number | Licence valid until |
|---|---|---|---|
| LeoVegas | Roar Vegas Ltd | 23Si808 | 27 November 2028 |
| Unibet | Kaprifol Services Limited | 25Si952 | 22 October 2030 |
| Mr Green | Mr Green Limited | See the casino’s terms | 26 March 2029 |
| Betsson | Spin Nordic Ltd (according to trade press) | See the casino’s terms | See the casino’s terms |
| Casumo | Oddit Limited | 23Si773 | 21 November 2028 |
| ComeOn | ComeOn Sweden Ltd | See the casino’s terms | See the casino’s terms |
| Snabbare | Snabbare Ltd | 25Si1513 | 29 October 2030 |
Two of the brands have recently changed operating company. Unibet has been run by Kaprifol Services Limited since 23 October 2025, and according to industry media Betsson moved to Spin Nordic Ltd from 30 September 2026. Older articles about these casinos may therefore name a different company.
The owners behind the brands
The licence holder is often a subsidiary of a larger group. LeoVegas Group has been owned by the American company MGM Resorts International since 2022, and Unibet is part of FDJ United, which completed its acquisition of Kindred Group in October 2024. Betsson AB is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.
Mr Green is owned by evoke plc, which in June 2026 agreed to be acquired by Bally’s Intralot. The deal was approved by evoke’s shareholders in August 2026 but, according to the latest information we have, had not yet been completed. ComeOn and Snabbare belong to ComeOn Group, which is owned by Cherry AB, while Casumo, according to an industry profile, is owned by the privately held Casumo Holding PLC.
Changes of ownership can eventually lead to new terms or a new company behind the site. It is therefore sensible to review the terms whenever a casino you play at changes hands.

The details for ComeOn and Unibet come from the casinos’ websites in October 2026. At Mr Green, winnings from free spins do not need to be wagered according to the casino, and at LeoVegas the bonus is paid out as real money once the deposit has been wagered.
How much you need to wager – two worked examples
At LeoVegas the deposit is wagered and the bonus is then paid out as real money. If you deposit 1,000 kr and receive 1,000 kr in bonus, you need to wager 10,000 kr before the bonus is paid out.
At Casumo the requirement is calculated on bonus plus deposit. If you deposit 300 kr and receive 300 kr in bonus, the wagering comes to 20 × 600 kr, which is 12,000 kr. These amounts are only examples – always do the maths on what you yourself plan to deposit.
Maximum bet and validity period
While a bonus is active, most casinos limit how much you may stake per round. Unibet states 25 kr per game or spin and Casumo 50 kr. LeoVegas, Mr Green, Casumo and ComeOn give you 60 days to meet the terms, and at Unibet the bonus is valid for up to 60 days. If you play with a bonus without knowing these limits you could lose it, so read the terms before you start.
Which Swedish operator suits you?
We do not rank the casinos in this text – the list above handles the comparison, and we describe how it is weighted on the page about how we rate casinos.
There are, however, clear differences in the terms, and what suits you depends on your priorities.
If you want simple bonus terms
A low wagering requirement calculated on the deposit is easier to keep track of than a high requirement on bonus plus deposit. LeoVegas requires the deposit to be wagered 10 times and Unibet’s free spins option has a 1x wagering requirement, according to the casinos’ terms.
If withdrawals matter most
Few casinos state a specific withdrawal time. Snabbare says that withdrawals via Trustly reach your bank within 15 minutes of being processed, and ComeOn writes that withdrawals are handled within 24 hours. For the other casinos in the comparison, the information is either contradictory, as with Casumo, or missing from what we have been able to read.
If you play live casino or on mobile
LeoVegas, Unibet, Casumo and ComeOn all name Evolution as their live casino provider. Unibet and Casumo say they have an app for both iOS and Android, and Snabbare has an app in the Swedish App Store.
If you want to log in with BankID
Six of the seven casinos in the comparison use BankID, Sweden’s electronic identification system, either for registration and login or for deposits and withdrawals. We have not been able to confirm this for Betsson. If you want to compare more options, there is a separate page about casinos with BankID.
If you want customer service in Swedish
ComeOn offers Swedish-speaking customer service around the clock via live chat and email, Snabbare has live chat and email around the clock, and LeoVegas has chat, email and phone support 24 hours a day, every day. Mr Green says its customer service is available in Swedish via chat, phone and email, without giving opening hours. Casumo states opening hours of 08:00 to 00:00, and for Unibet we have not found any hours.
The Swedish licence explained: what the law requires of a casino
Spellagen (2018:1138), the Swedish Gambling Act, is the foundation of the Swedish licensed market. Among other things, the licence holder must:
- refuse gambling to anyone under 18 and be able to verify age,
- register your name, address and personal identity number and verify your identity reliably, which in practice usually means BankID,
- make sure you set a limit on your deposits per day, week and month, and contact you if you set a limit above 10,000 kr per month,
- let you choose whether to limit your login time,
- offer a self-assessment test and the option to exclude yourself, including immediately for 24 hours,
- market gambling with moderation and never send direct marketing to anyone who has excluded themselves via Spelpaus.
On top of that comes the bonus rule in Chapter 14, Section 9: a licence holder may only offer a bonus the first time you play. That is why you see welcome bonuses but no loyalty or reload bonuses for existing customers.
Tax-free winnings – with one important exception
Winnings from an operator with a Swedish licence are tax-free for you. If, however, you play with a company that targets Sweden without the required licence, winnings above 100 kr are taxed at 30% of the net winnings, meaning winnings minus stakes per operator and calendar year. Losses with one operator cannot be offset against winnings with another.
The operators instead pay gambling tax to the state. Since 1 July 2024 the rate has been 22%.
Supervision you can see
A licence also means the company is under supervision, and the decisions are public. In 2025 Spelinspektionen gave Betsson Nordic Ltd a warning and a penalty fee of 6.5 million kronor for shortcomings in its anti-money laundering work. In the same year Snabbare Ltd received a warning and a penalty fee of 5.5 million kronor, and the administrative court rejected the company’s appeal in July 2026. Casumo’s licence holder Oddit Limited received a warning and 1.2 million kronor in May 2026 for late notification of changes among key personnel.
Decisions can also be overturned. LeoVegas’s licence holder Roar Vegas Ltd received a remark and a penalty fee in 2025 for failings in its duty of care, but the fee was later set aside by a court. If you want to check a company yourself, you will find every valid licence in Spelinspektionen’s licence register.
Payment methods at Swedish casinos
Swish and Trustly are the methods mentioned by the most casinos in our comparison. With Trustly you pay directly from your bank account after identifying yourself with your bank, and Swish reaches the casinos via payment institutions rather than through the casinos’ own banking agreements. In September 2025 Zimpler became the first payment institution outside the banks with a direct connection to Swish.
Cards work at some casinos, but only debit cards that take money from your own account. Since 1 May 2026 licensed operators must block credit cards, and gambling may not be funded with credit of any kind – neither credit cards, invoices nor loans. Casumo, for example, states that credit cards are no longer accepted from 1 May 2026.
Any fees may differ between methods and casinos, so always check the cashier before you deposit. A full overview is available under casino payment methods.
Operators without a Swedish licence – what you miss out on
A company without a Swedish licence is not covered by Spelpaus, does not have to offer deposit limits under Swedish rules, and may leave you with taxable winnings.
The government is working to make it harder for unlicensed companies to reach Swedish players. A memorandum from September 2025 proposes, among other things, that the Gambling Act should apply based on whether Swedes take part in the gambling, and that the ban on promoting unlicensed gambling should also cover payment solutions. The proposal had not yet become law at the end of September 2026.
Our home page has a broader overview of online casinos in Sweden, and there too we only cover companies with a Swedish licence.
Responsible gambling at Swedish casinos
In addition to the tools required by law, several casinos run their own programmes. LeoVegas offers a self-assessment test through LeoSafePlay, Mr Green has Green Gaming with insights into your gambling habits, and Casumo has its Play Okay programme. Snabbare lets you set limits on how much you stake per day, week and month, and refers you to the self-assessment test from Stödlinjen, the national gambling helpline.
The rules are also being tightened. In September 2026 the government launched an inquiry into protecting children and young adults from gambling for money, which will among other things review marketing and mandatory time limits. The inquiry is due to report no later than 29 February 2028.
Responsible gambling – you set the limits
Swedish licence holders must give you the tools, but you are the one who sets the limits. Choose a deposit limit you can manage with and do not raise it on impulse – an increase takes effect after 72 hours at the earliest anyway.
Spelpaus.se excludes you from all gambling with Swedish licence holders at once, and the exclusion cannot be ended early. Stödlinjen answers on 020-81 91 00 on weekdays, with opening hours that vary by day of the week, and also offers a chat service.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a Swedish casino?
A Swedish casino is a casino licensed by Spelinspektionen (the Swedish Gambling Authority) to offer online gambling in Sweden. The company may be registered abroad, for example in Malta, but must comply fully with Spellagen (the Gambling Act) when it offers gambling to Swedish players.
Are winnings from Swedish casinos tax-free?
Yes, winnings from operators with a Swedish licence are tax-free for the player. If you play with a company that targets Sweden without the required licence, winnings above 100 kr are taxed at 30 per cent of the net winnings.
Why do I only get one bonus at Swedish casinos?
Chapter 14, Section 9 of the Gambling Act only allows a bonus the first time you play with a licence holder. That is why Swedish casinos offer welcome bonuses but no recurring bonuses for existing players.
Can I pay by credit card at a Swedish casino?
No. Since 1 May 2026 licensed operators must block credit cards as a payment method. Debit cards that take money from your own bank account can still be used at casinos that accept cards.
How can I tell whether a casino has a Swedish licence?
Search for the company or the web address in Spelinspektionen’s licence register. The licence number and licence holder are often also shown in the footer of the casino’s website, and they should match the register.
