Pragmatic Play launches Halloween slot in Big Bass series

Pragmatic Play has released a new Halloween-themed slot in its popular fishing franchise Big Bass. The game is called Big Bass Halloween Splash 1000 and launched on 12 October 2026. It is the fourth spooky instalment in the franchise, and it’s already appearing with suppliers used by Swedish-licensed casinos.

What’s new

Big Bass Halloween Splash 1000 runs on the engine from Big Bass Splash 1000, which launched in December 2025 and serves as the mechanical foundation for the new slot. Like its predecessor, the game is played on a grid with five reels, three rows and ten paylines.

Compared with the original, the Halloween version offers a calmer experience. Volatility has been eased to medium and the maximum win lowered from 25,000 times the bet to 20,000 times the bet, with an RTP of 96.50%. Some casinos may also offer lower RTP settings of 95.50% or 94.50%, which is common for slots from major suppliers.

The bonus round is triggered through scatter symbols. Landing three, four or five scatters in the base game awards 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively, and even two scatters give a random chance of an extra scatter appearing to activate the feature. Before the free spins round begins, players choose among six pumpkins to unlock bonus features. The choice reveals up to five different modifiers, which can unlock extra wilds, money symbols, more free spins, or let the round start directly at a higher multiplier level.

The theme gives the classic fishing setting a spooky twist. The high-paying symbols have been swapped for scary fish, coffins, fishing rods, bats and monster trucks, while the main character himself has been given a vampire look for the season.

What it means for you as a player

Pragmatic Play is one of the most established suppliers on the Swedish market. The company holds a licence from Spelinspektionen to supply gaming software in Sweden, valid until December 2029. That means games like Big Bass Halloween Splash 1000 can appear across several operators, alongside other well-known titles from the same supplier, including Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus.

As a player, this shouldn’t be a reason to let a specific bonus or promotion decide which game you try. Instead, make sure you’re playing at a casino with a Swedish licence before trying the new slot, so that deposit limits, the Spelpaus connection and other safeguards apply as usual.

Seasonal slots like this one are typically available for a limited time, often until shortly after Halloween, before the supplier’s catalogue shifts to a winter or Christmas theme.

The bigger picture

The launch is a clear example of how major suppliers work with their most popular series. Seasonal reskins of already proven slot concepts have become a reliable strategy for major suppliers, and the Big Bass series now counts four Halloween variants in its catalogue. By reusing an already tested game engine, Pragmatic Play can release new content quickly without compromising on the quality of the core mechanics.

For Swedish players, this means a steady flow of new titles from a supplier already well established on the market, while the portfolio’s best-known games, such as Sweet Bonanza and Big Bass Bonanza, remain the most played.
