Evolution open to AI dealer – but only as a complement

Evolution, the Swedish company behind most of the live casino content at Swedish-licensed casinos, says an AI-powered dealer could become reality. The comments came as CEO Martin Carlesund presented the company’s third-quarter results on 23 October 2026.
Carlesund was clear that any such move would be an addition to existing tables, not a replacement for the human dealers who run Evolution’s games today.
What’s new
Evolution’s CEO Martin Carlesund said a launch of an AI-driven live dealer is a possibility, but only as a complement to the existing offering. He compared the concept to an RNG game in a live setting and stressed that he does not think the technology will take over from live, as some people keep asking.
Beyond the dealer concept itself, Evolution is working with AI across the whole group, including looking at where the technology can boost efficiency or replace certain functions. The comments came alongside the quarterly report, where the live casino business returned to growth with a 2.6 percent increase, while RNG games – digital games without a human dealer – grew by 10.1 percent.
During the quarter the company also launched new live titles such as Monopoly Roll’em and Disco Balls in the live casino portfolio, and a new US-focused slots studio called Spinning Whale got its first game in November 2026, distributed through Evolution’s One Stop Shop. The CEO also described next year’s product plan as “spectacular” during the earnings call.
What it means for you as a player
Right now, players at Swedish-licensed casinos won’t notice any difference. Evolution’s tables with real dealers remain exactly as they are in the live casino section at operators that work with the company. If an AI dealer is ever launched, it would be one option among many, not a replacement for the classic tables with human contact and atmosphere.
No launch date has been set, and Carlesund was cautious about promising anything concrete. It’s too early to say if or when an AI-driven dealer might appear at Swedish casinos. Whatever game you choose, it’s worth remembering that help is available via Stödlinjen.se, and that anyone wanting a break from all licensed gambling can self-exclude via Spelpaus.se.
The bigger picture
The announcement fits a wider picture of a company in transition. The new Spinning Whale slots studio shows Evolution continuing to broaden its range beyond the classic live table, while RNG games keep growing faster than live casino for a fifth straight quarter. Meanwhile, a broader industry debate is underway about AI dealers as a potential challenger to the costly physical studios Evolution built its position around, something management has so far downplayed as a threat to its core business.
For anyone keeping an eye on new slots and games appearing at Swedish operators, this is another sign that the range keeps expanding, whether through new studios, new live formats, or future AI additions.
